About Me:
Hi! My name is Boaz Kaffman (He/Him). I have a B.A. from Stanford University in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I grew up in New Haven where I truly fell in love with literature at the Educational Center for the Arts. Over my four years at Stanford, I dedicated my time to writing several novels, poetry, films, and short stories. I hope to be published in the near future!
I love writing surreal stories with fantastical elements a la Borges or Calvino, but I also love down-to-earth, slow stories like Carver. Some of my main poetic influences are Neruda, Danez Smith, Elizabeth Bishop, and Dean Young. Some of my other influences include David Foster Wallace, Virginia Woolf, Nabokov, François Truffaut, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Rumi, Walter Benjamin, Adam Johnson, Bakhtin, amongst others.
I will use this website to portfolio some of the work I am comfortable sharing online as I currently dedicate most of my time to novelistic work. However, I do put some poems online (On TikTok or Instagram) in order to stay connected with the world. I also tweet every once in a while something to make me, and perhaps you, chuckle.
